"The market is on edge about the potential for Middle East and North Africa supply disruptions," said Mike Wittner, head of commodities research, Americas, at Societe Generale.
"If you've got reports that actual disruptions are starting to occur, it's going to have a supportive impact. A lot of it is high-quality crude and that is important as well."
The increasingly violent protests that appeared to put Muammar Gaddafi's four decades of rule in jeopardy were the realization of weeks of mounting concerns that Egypt-inspired unrest would seep into nearby oil producers.
Brent oil futures, which have climbed more than $10 this year largely due to the increasing geopolitical risk premium, jumped $3.22 a barrel, or 3.2 percent, to settle at $ a barrel. They jumped another $2 to trade as high as $108 in after-hours dealing, the highest since September 4, 2008.
The March U.S. crude oil contract, which expires on Tuesday, surged $5.22 a barrel to trade at $91.42 a barrel in late-afternoon activity -- the highest in two weeks
Nota Ras Raka:-
Damn you uncle Gaddhafi, tengok..kan minyak dah naik niee....ahaaiiii...
kalau kerajaan yang tak berhati perut, mereka akan naikkan harga minyak walau apapun sebabnya..

CAIRO â" Egypt's military rulers took sweeping action to dismantle the autocratic legacy of former President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday, dissolving parliament, suspending the constitution and promising elections in moves cautiously welcomed by pro-democracy protesters.
They also met with representatives of the broad-based youth movement that brought down the government after an 18-day uprising that transfixed the world.
The caretaker government, backed by the military, said restoring security was a top priority even as labor unrest reflected one of the many challenges of steering the Arab world's biggest nation toward stability and democracy.
On Sunday, prominent activist Wael Ghonim posted on a Facebook page he manages notes from a meeting between members of the military council and youth representatives, which he described as encouraging.
The military defended the caretaker government, stocked with Mubarak loyalists, as necessary for now in the interests of stability but pledged to soon change it, said Ghonim and another protester, Amr Salama, in the statement.
"They said they will go after corrupt people no matter what their position current or previous," the statement added. Amendments to the much reviled constitution will be prepared by an independent committee over the next 10 days and then presented for approval in a popular referendum to be held in two months, they said.
Nota Ras Raka:-
Akhirnya, rejem Hosni mubarak tumbang selepas melayan tuntutan 18 hari rakyat. mana mungkin menahan gelombang kebangkitan, yang jelas menentang kezaliman.
Salute untuk rakyat-rakyat mesir yang berani.

ASSOCIATION UNHAPPY WITH RM20 MILLION ALLOCATION

Personal message:
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama)-- The Kampung Baru Development Association(PPKB) today expressed its unhappiness that the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, here is being made as the starting point and transformation icon for the area.
PPKB president Dr Mohd Yusof Ismail said the landowners and inheritors in Kampung Baru said it was inappropriate that the Masjid Jamek was being made as the catalyst for development for the area.
On Feb 5, 2011, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru would become the starting point and transformation icon for the area which would be turned into a high-value, sophisticated and modern area.
He announced an allocation of RM20 million to fund the renovation and upgrading of the mosque that would begin within the next six months with the allocation being channelled through the government-owned strategic development company -- 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Dr Yusof said that according to the professional view among urban and regional development practitioners, a mega project was needed to act as a catalyst in efforts to develop a particular area.
As an example, the Kuala Lumpur City Centre was made as the nucleus for the development of the KLCC area with the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers and high-rise buildings such as the Maxis in the area, he said in a statement.
Nota Ras Raka:-
Berani betoi orang Kg. Baru ni melawan PM. tapi, takut-takut upgrade masjid tu jadi trojan horse je untuk membangunkan Kg. Baru..
entahlah, terpulang pada orang Kg baru. orang lain kalau diorang bayar 1 billion, hanya mampu tengok ja la...

Shah Alam MP and the city''s PAS chief Abdul Khalid Samad said Selangor PAS rejected the proposal.
He said Nasrudin was not empowered to speak on behalf of the state governments.
"He (Nasrudin) does not represent the state governments, and the state religious departments always curb immoral activities whether it is Valentine''s Day or not," he told a news conference at his office here.
