aku dan persidangan umno

rombongan cik kiah, suatu masa dulu...

imej pertama antara aku dengan persidangan umno (pu) ialah imej zahid hamidi di muka depan majalah tamadun, gayanya sewaktu menjawat jawatan ketua pergerakan pemuda umno, yang membongkar isu kronisme dalam umno. tahun itu, 1998, yang dikatakan itulah tahunnya anwar akan 'sapu' habis dr. m. mana taknya, pemuda dah proksi anwar, wanita pun dah proksi anwar. buat pertama kali dalam pemilihan penggal itu, rafidah aziz tersungkur di kaki zaharah sulaiman.

dan ketika itulah juga, dr. m kata umno dah teruk, dah kena virus politik wang, politik rasuah. itulah ketikanya, lanskap politik malaysia tidak pernah sama seperti dahulunya.

surprisingly, pas was the new target. we are quite familiar with pkr and dap assault by umno, but the last 48 hours of assembly, if we read the full texts, we know they went all out attacking pas and make sure the message reached the public.

perkasa, on advance note ahead of umno general assembly, would like to see umno to be more significant and seriously uphold the malay agenda, such as to maintain the status-quo of 30% bumiputera quota and settlement for some liberalization and meritocracies issues, which currently drove away most of the malays confidence and support from umno band of leadership.
